The best month of the year, and priced like it.
Dry, cool by Thai standards, and almost no rain anywhere on the mainland. Courses are in their best condition of the year and the humidity is bearable enough to walk if you want to. It is also the busiest month, so tee times at the well-known courses go weeks ahead.

Whatever the month, the same rules apply in Thailand: tee off early, drink more than you think you need, and take a cart unless you have a good reason not to. A caddie is compulsory at almost every course and will carry, read greens and keep you moving — budget ฿400 plus a tip.
In January specifically, conditions are about as good as Thailand gets, and the main constraint is availability rather than weather.
