Thailand Golf Itineraries: 10 Days, Two Regions

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Ten nights is where a Thailand golf trip stops being a week away and starts being a proper tour. It is the shortest trip where moving between regions earns its keep — you get two very different kinds of golf, and the travel day costs you less proportionally.

Three routes below. Each assumes six or seven rounds, two bases, and one genuine rest day.

Route 1 — Bangkok and Hua Hin: the classic

Best for: a first tour. Prestige city clubs, then the country's best-regarded resort golf, with an easy road transfer between them.

DaysPlan
1Arrive Bangkok. Stay east of the city.
2–4Thai Country Club, Alpine and Nikanti.
5Transfer to Hua Hin (3–4 hours). Afternoon off.
6–7Black Mountain and Banyan / Pineapple Valley.
8Rest day — beach, night market, or the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace.
9Royal Hua Hin — 1924, and pure character.
10Majestic Creek or a return to your favourite.
11Transfer to Bangkok, fly home.

Route 2 — Pattaya and Phuket: golf plus beach

Best for: mixed groups, or couples where only one plays. Volume golf on the Eastern Seaboard, then resort golf where the non-golfers have something to do.

DaysPlan
1Arrive Bangkok, transfer to Pattaya.
2–4Siam Country Club Old, Laem Chabang and Burapha.
5Fly Bangkok to Phuket (about 90 minutes). Afternoon at the beach.
6Red Mountain — the island's showpiece, blasted through an old tin mine.
7Rest day — Phi Phi, Old Town, or simply the pool.
8Blue Canyon Canyon Course — where Tiger Woods won the 1998 Johnnie Walker Classic.
9Laguna or Loch Palm — gentler, and welcome by now.
10–11Free day, then fly home from Phuket.

Flying home from Phuket rather than backtracking to Bangkok saves a day — worth checking when you book.

Route 3 — Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai: the cool-season north

Best for: repeat visitors, and anyone travelling November to February. Mountain golf at 15–22°C, far fewer crowds, and the best non-golf offering in Thailand.

Timing is not optional here. Go between November and February. March and April bring the agricultural burning season, when Chiang Mai's air quality is genuinely hazardous — in March 2026 the city repeatedly ranked among the most polluted in the world.

DaysPlan
1Fly into Chiang Mai (direct from Bangkok, about 70 minutes).
2–4Chiangmai Highlands, Alpine Chiang Mai and Royal Chiang Mai.
5Rest day — Doi Suthep, the old city temples, or a cookery class.
6Drive to Chiang Rai (about 3 hours) via the mountain road.
7–8Santiburi — a Robert Trent Jones Jr design and the north's benchmark — plus Waterford Valley.
9White Temple, Golden Triangle, or the tea country.
10–11Return to Chiang Mai, final round, fly home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ten days long enough for a multi-region Thailand golf trip?

Yes — ten nights is the shortest trip where moving between regions makes sense. Allow a full travel day between bases and plan a lighter round on arrival days. Two centres works comfortably; three is rushed.

Can you combine Bangkok and Phuket on one golf trip?

Yes. Domestic flights between Bangkok and Phuket take about ninety minutes and run frequently. Check your airline's golf-bag policy on the domestic leg, as allowances are lower than on international flights.

How many rounds fit into ten days in Thailand?

Six or seven is comfortable, including two travel days and a rest day. Eight is possible if you are fit and start early, but most groups find seven is the point where the golf stops being a holiday.
