Our Take

Alpine is Bangkok's other blue-chip course — a rolling, tree-lined layout that feels nothing like the flat paddy-field golf common around the capital. It hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2000, won by Tiger Woods, and remains a regular on 'best in Thailand' lists. Access is easier midweek; it's worth the premium over the city's mid-tier courses.

It’s probably one of the most beautiful golf courses near Bangkok. The fairways are well maintained and surrounded by lush trees. Despite the relatively high green fee, the course is well worth it if you can afford. The locker room is also well equipped, with a jacuzzi available for relaxation after the game.

Our second time playing this course. Today was my 60th so was looking forward to playing here with my wife. As is typical in Thailand, it is one caddy and one buggy per player and the caddy has to drive the buggy. We played the B course followed by the A course. It is nice course with lots of challenges, particularly water which I found on more than one occasion. The caddies are (generally) older and more experienced which was definitely appreciated. My caddy was excellent at reading the line

(5) STARS FOR LOW SEASON. For the money, it’s one of the best near BKK. Around 100 ppl on weekday. Very good pace of play. Conditions are great and challenging. It’s like Siam Country Old Course, but only 1.5 hr: from downtown BKK. (3) STARS FOR HIGH SEASON. But once high season is back (Nov-Mar), it gets crowded (170+ players). And the course allocates only 4.5 mins/flight – not realistic. Then you are looking at a 5.5-6 hrs round. And the marshals are too soft to manage the poorly-mannered pl
