The rain eases and the prices have not caught up.

The mainland dries out through October and the peak-season crowd has not arrived. Late October is one of the better value windows in the calendar. The exception is Koh Samui, which gets its wettest weather from October to December while the rest of the country improves.

Playing in October heat

Whatever the month, the same rules apply in Thailand: tee off early, drink more than you think you need, and take a cart unless you have a good reason not to. A caddie is compulsory at almost every course and will carry, read greens and keep you moving — budget ฿400 plus a tip.

In October specifically, rain is the variable, and it usually arrives in the afternoon rather than the morning, so early tee times mostly play through.
