Golf Society Trips to Phuket

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Phuket has fewer courses than Pattaya or Bangkok, but the good ones are very good — and it is the only Thai golf destination where the non-golfers in your party will have as good a week as the golfers. For a society trip with partners attached, that matters more than the course count.

Why Phuket works for a society

Blue Canyon has hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic and the Asian Tour; Red Mountain is one of the most dramatic layouts in Southeast Asia, cut through a former tin mine. Four or five rounds is comfortable for a week, which suits a society that wants golf and a holiday rather than golf and more golf.

Phuket is the most expensive Thai golf region on average — green fees run noticeably above the national figure — so budget accordingly, or mix a premium round or two with the better-value courses.

The courses that suit a group

These are the ones we would build a society week around — a mix of the round everyone came for and the value days that keep the budget honest.

A week that works

A proven shape for a five-round week, with the rest day where it does most good. Slot your order of merit across the four competitive rounds and keep the opener social.

DayRoundWhy here
2Loch PalmWalkable and forgiving — the right opener while everyone finds their swing.
3Blue Canyon Canyon CourseThe championship round. Make it the order-of-merit day.
4Rest dayThe beach, Phi Phi, or Old Phuket Town. The non-golfers have been waiting for this.
5Red MountainThe most dramatic round on the island, and the one people photograph.
6LagunaFlatter and more resort-like — a gentle day four.
7AquellaA drive north into Phang Nga, but a genuinely different kind of golf to finish on.

Day one is arrival and day eight is the flight home. Price this exact shape on the trip cost calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a society golf trip to Phuket cost?

For seven nights with five rounds, expect roughly £1,100 to £1,900 per golfer excluding flights, depending on hotel standard and how many premium courses you play. Group rates generally start at eight golfers. Remember the compulsory caddie fee and a cash tip of ฿400–฿500 per round on top.

Can we get a group rate at Phuket courses?

Yes. Most Phuket courses will quote below the published green fee from around eight golfers, and the discount improves as numbers rise. Send your dates and final numbers together — a quote for “about twelve to twenty” is always worse than a quote for eighteen.

How many rounds should a society play in a week in Phuket?

Four or five over seven nights. Thai rounds take four and a half to five and a half hours in heat and humidity, so consecutive days are harder work than at home. Societies that book seven rounds in seven days routinely drop one — and it is usually the expensive one.

Can we arrange a shotgun start?

With enough golfers, yes. From around twenty-four upwards it becomes realistic on a weekday, and above thirty-two it is straightforward. Ask when you enquire rather than after you have booked, because it determines which Phuket courses can take you.
