About Chiangmai Gym Khana Club

Chiangmai Gym Khana Club is a 18-hole, 5,186-yard golf course in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiangmai Gym Khana Club -

The Gymkhana club at Chiang Mai in northern Thailand was conceived in 1898 by a handful of expatriate gentlemen with the object of using the club as a means of encouraging sport in Northern Siam. For the club to achieve this goal it should be managed so as to meet the needs of the members and their guests and be run as a profitable enterprise where all profits are circulated back into the club for continual improvement. The club would also act as a focal point where members could meet up during their work breaks and together with their wives enjoy a haven of tranquility, engage in conversation, participate in various sports and relax on the veranda whilst the heat of the afternoon sun gave way to cooling breezes from the adjacent mountains.

A great course with big trees coming into play. A little bit dry so the ball runs. The putting surfaces aren’t completely smooth but the price for 18 is 600 baht/visitor. It was a fun experience a must try if you love golf. I enjoyed the driving range , the 9 hole course, played 18, and the restaurant was good . My caddy was new and she held her own. It’s very walkable.

Golf Course is still in recovery from last years flood damage. fairways are in rough shape. B300 + tip for caddie. ( walking only - they do not have carts here ) greens and bunkers were decent. i enjoyed the layout. the driving range was nice and the balls were in good shape. 4 trays for B100. all the bathrooms were very clean and the staff was super friendly. had a great burger & fries at the restaurant, B180 cooked perfectly and great flavor. i will be back.

Very and very old but nice golf course and sport's club. Great little 9 holes course that is short but challenging. Great club house with nice food and drinks. There is also a driving range, tennis and even a cricket club. Reminds me of some of the private clubs in Singapore but on a more relaxed and casual feel. Worth a visit just to see the amazing 100yrs old Rain Tree by the club house....
